The Bath Comedy Festival has been conceived to bring the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath to life with a colourful, vibrant, inclusive and dedicated mix of comedy – in all its many guises.
Bath has a long tradition of humour, from the myth of Bladud’s pigs and our ancient Hot Springs, to the Georgian whimsy of Rowlanson’s caricatures.
Today, the City is home to some leading international talent such as Bill Bailey, Bizarre Bath and the Natural Theatre Company.
The Bath Comedy Festival has been designed to attract both the cream of cutting edge comedy and some of our all time favourite comic legends in a celebration of humorous invention.
We want to support all things funny - including stand up, street theatre, caricature, film, plays, writers, artists, workshops and competitions.
Starting on April Fool’s Day, our exciting programme will take place in a fantastic mix of venues and will spill out onto our historic streets in a hubbub of anticipation and laughter. The more, the merrier.
